We have a new, super refreshing drink special - the Albert Palmer. Iced Yunnan Hong Cha black tea, our "Clear Mind" apothecary blend (Sage, Rosemary, peppermint, ginkgo, gotu kola, and eleuthero root) topped with organic Mango Lemonade. It only takes a minute to make too, so if you're in a hurry to quench yourself...!

Our newest member at the teahouse - He's tall and narrow and friendly, and has already learned the way of the leaf, brewin' super good tea 4 days a week.
School's back in session!
The teahouse is starting to fill with students from Concordia University, the University of Portland, Portland State University and The Northwest College of Natural Medicine. We love the "campus vibe" this creates. Come drink some tea or kombucha and sharpen your mind among your fellow students.
Last Thursday on Alberta - February 26th - evening until 11:00
Don't miss it! As usual, Alberta Street comes alive a little extra on Last Thursdays. Walk the street to see locally-made crafts and hear various live music acts. Come by the teahouse and see the teatenders all decked out in their Halloween costumes.
We've gone Gaiwan!
We've still got all the usual great stuff, but now you can try our 7 oolongs or one of our many green or white teas in a lovely glass gaiwan cup. Watch your leaves unfurl and experience the varying flavors of multiple infusions. Unlimited infusions, $4.50

We've been at this for about a year now. Current flavors are Nutritonic, Superberry, Clear Mind and White Rose. New Face Behind the Counter: Susannah
If you're one of our regulars be sure to introduce yourself to our newest teatender. Susannah started September 9th and she's a great addition to our team. Be sure to give her feedback so she knows how to make your tea the way you like it.
New addition to the Finest List: Silver Needle Pu-erh - arrived July 14th
This tea was produced in 2001 and is considered a raw puer that has been kept in dry storage. These conditions mean that as long as the tea is stored properly (away from scent and sunlight), the quality and flavor will continue to improve. It is made solely from the freshly grown tips, contributing to its rarity, uniqueness, quality and flavor. It is from the Bulang area in Yunnan, China, which is considered one of the "new" famous tea mountains established in 1962. This tea was processed according to the traditional method so that it was "sun dried" and then dried over fire. The result is a slightly smoked flavor with a pungent desert sage quality. There exists almost a burst of vitamin C flavor. This tea has been in dry According to ayurvedic food experts, this tea has a remarkable "drying" quality, and is thus good for people with a damp body type. Try it in a gaiwan.

About the Alberta Street Teahouse
Opened in April of 2006, Townshend's Alberta Street Teahouse is a mellow and cozy spot in an absolutely wonderful neighborhood. NE Alberta is made up of a very "Portland" mix; journalists, musicians, yoga instructors, artists, massage therapists, students, poets and many others from virtually all walks of life. On "Last Thursdays" the street shows its spirit as it transforms into its own version of a mini-Mardis Gras in the summer months. The staff at the teahouse is headed up by Jake, the bearded bespectacled fellow who works most weekdays. If you've got a tea question, he's got an answer. We're all eager to make your perfect cup or pot of tea. Have a seat and relax, we'll bring it out to you.
